Washington— Laura Barrón-López will join the Washington Examiner as a political reporter on October 23 based out of Washington.
In this new role at the Washington Examiner, she will cover the Democratic Party and Democratic lawmakers in Congress as they work their way toward the 2018 midterm elections and the presidential election two years later.
Barrón-López said, “It’s a pivotal time for Democrats as they try to capitalize on a divided Republican Party. This is one of the most important stories of 2018 and 2020 and I’m thrilled the Washington Examiner wants to tell it.”
Previously, Barron-Lopez covered Congress for HuffPost, and before that she was a reporter at The Hill, covering energy and environment policy. Her writing has been published in E&E News, The Oregonian, and the OC Register.
Editorial Director Hugo Gurdon said, “Laura is a great reporter whose work I’ve followed and admired for years. Her excellent sources on Capitol Hill will bring extra power to our coverage of the Democrats as they try to claw their way back to power.”
